My paintings are about people and light. I want the human subjects in my paintings to invite the viewer into a space where emotions are subtle but deeply felt. The viewer brings their own narrative and creates a new story. This connection allows us to transcend the apparent two-dimensionality of the canvas and fully inhabit a world of light and feeling.

I'm drawn to Realism as I have a strong, deeply rooted influence from my father Kiff Holland, a celebrated artist. He focused mostly on painting what he saw. Inspired by his approach, I also mirror my perceptions onto canvas. Now I’m moving toward purer expressiveness and eventually into abstraction, to allow the viewer the freedom to create a narrative, which is always my intent, no matter the form.
